As part of the 'City Plan 2040' public consultation, the Development Plans Team is organising a series of resident-focused consultation events. We've already hosted two events—one in-person at The City Hall and one virtual event. Both of these sessions sparked interesting conversations around residential development and amenity; impact of tall buildings on heritage; and infrastructure development along with the provision of open spaces in the Square Mile. We have received positive feedback and valuable insights from both sessions and look forward to hearing more from you.
The next event is scheduled for May 16th at the Basinghall Suite, Guildhall Yard. Join us to learn more about the City Plan and our vision for the Square Mile's development up to 2040.

Last week, a diverse group of industry experts, including architects, environmental consultants, London boroughs, government organisations, planning agencies, and developers, convened at Guildhall for two roundtable workshops to discuss the emerging sustainability policies and guidance outlined in the 'City Plan 2040' and the 'Planning for Sustainability SPD'.
The first workshop discussed retrofit and reuse, greenhouse gas emissions and energy use, and circular economy while the second focused on climate resilience and urban greening and biodiversity. The post-presentation discussions were lively and engaging. We extend our gratitude to all stakeholders who attended for their valuable participation, collaboration, and feedback.

The Development Plans Team organised a public consultation event for the City Plan 2040, focussing on 'Economic Growth', at The Storey Club in Broadgate on April 29th. The event explored how the City Plan will support office development to meet the projected economic growth in the Square Mile, along with the City Corporation's 'Destination City' and 'Sustainability' agenda. The Q&A session that followed the presentation sparked interesting discussions on various topics.
